Subject-verb-object order

Change the order of these sentences into their correct subject-verb-object order. It may not be always necessary for some of these examples!

 

1. Some uniforms wore soldiers.

2. A bar drank in the woman.

3. Stripes have zebras.

4. The Earth goes round the sun.

5. The fridge was in the milk.

6. The polar bear ate the eskimo.

7. The door opened the policeman.

8. The lesson began the teacher.

9. The wild animals were watching the children.

10. The engine fixed the engineer.

11. The laugh made us joke.

12. The concert hall played at the orchestra.

13. Some milk boiled Susan.

14. Europe runs across the E40 European highway.

1. Some uniforms wore soldiers. Some soldiers wore uniforms.

2. A bar drank in the woman. A woman drank in the bar.

3. Stripes have zebras. Zebras have stripes.

4. The Earth goes round the sun. Correct

5. The fridge was in the milk. The milk was in the fridge.

6. The polar bear ate the eskimo. Both ways could be true!

7. The door opened the policeman. The policeman opened the door.

8. The lesson began the teacher. The teacher began the lesson.

9. The wild animals were watching the children. Both ways could be true!

10. The engine fixed the engineer. The engineer fixed the engine.

11. The laugh made us joke. The joke made us laugh. (It is possible for the laugh to make us 'joke'; here, joke can be a verb, meaning to say amusing things)

12. The concert hall played at the orchestra. The orchestra played at the concert hall.

13. Some milk boiled Susan. Susan boiled some milk.

14. Europe runs across the E40 European highway. The E40 European highway runs across Europe.

15. Space was the first man to go into Gagarin. Gagarin was the first man to go into space.
